Save Water Drink Tequila

Writer's picture: glutenfreebykathleenglutenfreebykathleen

My friend Kalle has gotten me hooked on margaritas! Here are some of the reasons why I am now on the tequila train:

- Tequila made from the blue agave plant is gluten free and aids in digestion

- No hangover headaches!

- So many flavor options

- Low calorie... but don't use store bought marg mix. Instead use my margarita recipe below :)

Hope you enjoy!

Margarita Recipe (1 serving)

Ingredients

-1 fresh lime (add more or less based on preference)

- Salt, optional (I recommend Jose Cuervo Margarita Salt)

- Ice (I recommend using large cocktail ice cubes)

- 1 shot of silver tequila (add more or less based on preference)

- 6 oz. natural flavored sparkling water (I recommend using your favorite La Croix flavor)

- 2 tablespoons of fresh squeezed juice, optional. (You could use orange juice or grapefruit for additional flavor)

- Fresh berries, optional. (You can add fresh blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, watermelon slices, etc. for additional flavor)

- Jalapeno slices, optional. (I love a spicy marg!)

Instructions

1. Cut lime in half.

2. Rub cocktail glass rim with lime wedge. Dip rim in salt and lightly swirl to coat the rim.

3. Add ice.

4. Juice lime halves into the glass and add additional ingredients.

5. Stir and serve.
