Pesto Pesto Pesto!

I love to add pesto to zoodles, eggs, roasted veggies, and pizza. I think homemade pesto tastes so much better than store bought sauce so I use my aerogarden to grow basil year round. I believe there really isn't a wrong way to make pesto but here is how I made my latest batch.


Pesto

Ingredients*

- 1.5 cups of packed basil

- .5 cup of cilantro (parsley is another great option!)

- 1 teaspoon minced garlic

- .5 cup of extra virgin olive oil

- Juice of 1 lemon

- 1/4 cup of Parmesan

- Salt and pepper to taste


Instructions

Add ingredients to food processor and blend until smooth.


*Other flavor options: parsley, pine nuts, grated cheese (I prefer Parmesan), sun dried tomatoes
